I have a new Microsoft 2008 R2 Terminal Server. I have found many issues with using Easy Print. I changed my policies to use real drivers first, then Easy Print. Playing with sand game. This works fine for Windows clients, but not for Mac clients. At first no printers for Macs were created.

I then saw in the logs the server was looking for HP 4350 PS driver. I installed this driver, and the Mac printers are auto-created, but the results are less than desirable. Print jobs have random spaces, and mixed font sizes. Is there a way to get the Macs to use the correct drivers for a printer, instead of the HP 4350 PS driver? We have similar problems. And it would appear that easy print only works with postscript enabled printers.

For a Mac at least, any other type of printer doesn't show up. After our experiences with Server 2003 and installing tons of drivers, we refused to do that again with 2008. So here is our work around.We have downloaded and installed novaPDF on the server. It costs about $15/client so if you don't have a ton of mac clients it's well worth it. That shows up as a printer on everyones RDP desktop.

The user has to share a folder on their mac (documents, or desktop) and the pdf printer drops a pdf file on their computer in that location.Now if you want to have it print automatically there is a tool on the Mac called automater. According to the Mac expert I talked to, you could set this up to look for files in a specific folder and have them automatically picked up and printed. The office connection still doesn't work.I read online that since you can't have Netframe on a MAC the Server 2008 will not redirect printers using RDC. I don't have the option to install Terminal Services on the Server 2008.Any input would be appreciated I've wasted days on this.
