X233h Acer Drivers For Mac

I just upgraded from Windows Vista Home Premium (64-bit) to Windows 7, SP1, 64-bit. When my desktop booted up in Normal Mode, after the 'Starting Windows' screen appeared, the monitor screen then went black. I manually shut down the desktop and then booted up again, but this time in Safe Mode'. Everything proceeded normally and the desktop screen eventually appeared.

When I checked the Control Panel 'Device Manager' screen, there was NO 'Monitor' device listed. When I ran the Acer Hardware Vendor Detection software, it discovered the video card (EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX 295) but listed no monitor. When I ran the Acer eDisplay Management software, in the 'Options' tab, 'Version' category, it indicated: 'DDC/CI Communication: No - NULL API'. I am using a DVI connection between monitor and video card. I used the Acer monitor with this desktop and Vista successfully (and virtually flawlessly) for over 4 years, so I am quite confident there is nothing wrong with the desktop, the monitor and the video card. Incidentally, when the desktop is accessed remotely while Windows 7 is in Normal Mode, the screen displays normally on the remote device. Also, in Safe Mode, when I go to Control Panel - Display - Screen Resolution, the 'Display' drop down box has a single listing: '1. (Default Monitor) on'. In other Windows 7 PCs that I have looked at, the listing is typically something like 'Generic PnP Monitor' or the specific name of the monitor. Clearly, my desktop is unable to access the monitor information, presumably as confirmed by the 'DDC/CI Communication: No - NULL API' indication.

So, my questions are:

1) Is the X233H monitor compatible with Windows 7?

1a) If not, why?

If so..

2) Is the X233H compatible with the EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX 295?

2a) If not, why? And what Nvidia video card(s) would be compatible with Windows 7/Acer X233H combination?

If so..

3) Why does the 'Monitor' device not appear in the Device Manager?

4) Why is the DDC (Display Data Channel) not being established?

5) Why does the monitor display satisfactorily in Safe Mode but not in Normal Mode?

Any advice would be most appreciated!
