The Find and Replace tool is a powerful yet often forgotten feature of Excel. Let’s see how it can be used to find and replace text and numbers in a spreadsheet and also some of its advanced features. When working with large spreadsheets, it is a common task to need to find a specific value. Fortunately, Find and Replace make this a simple task. I have used OOo for years. Have 3 pc's, 2 are desktops with multiple monitors.
On one pc, when I hit 'ctrl + f' or click the Find & Replace icon, the search box appears to pop up, but it pops up off the screen and is not visible. A couple times, the pop up box has appeared on a screen different from the one on which the spreadsheet is currently visible, but it has progressed so that now no matter which screen is being used the pop up search box is not visible.
The search box does appear to be open, and if I enter a search term the program locates it, but the advanced features such as replacing a phrase are not available because I can't see the box.
I have uninstalled the program (a simple uninstall, I will try a more comprehensive uninstall) and yesterday I restored a good image of my hard drive. That fixed the problem for about half a day.
The two pc's use have mostly identical hardware and software so I am curious why this happens on just the one pc.
Any advice appreciated, including tips on doing a full uninstall. I am sure that info is in the forum and will search for it.
