We have been using an ATEM-1 controlled with an iMac to do live HD switching for a couple of years. We now want to capture these events to H.264 for easy uploading to our website. The BMD Ultra Studio Mini Recorder (or Ultra Studio Express) seems like the easiest method to encode the HD output of our ATEM-1 to H.264 and capture that on the same iMac that is controlling the ATEM-1. Will BMD's MediaExpress reliably capture the Ultra Studio Thunderbolt output to H.264 files for us? This is strictly for capturing the live event video for upload. We don't do any post-production editing. This setup does not seem to be advertised on the BM website and we are not certain this is a reliable, simple method for getting H.264 recordings of these live events. We'd appreciate any insights or recommendations!
